On our quest to find the Birds of Bhutan, we were on the second day of birding, travelling from Punakha to Phobjikha via Nobding. Along this route, we were able to tick off a few of our target birds from the list. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the time we spent searching for the Ward’s Trogon.

However, the journey wasn’t without its challenges. The weather gods were not in our favour. Frequent spells of heavy showers forced us to take shelter and wait them out. Despite the rain, we managed to make the most of the gaps between showers and were rewarded with sightings of some truly magnificent Birds of Bhutan.

As with the previous post, this series remains largely pictorial. With this brief note on the route taken the readers will have an idea of the location of the sightings.
